On March 14th 2022 local Marina del Rey sailor, William “Bill” Walter Austin lll was reported missing after being separated from his Fountaine Pajot 39 catamaran. Bill was spending time along the Nopolo coast near Loreto, Mexico, after completing the Baja Ha-Ha rally sail. Sadly, Bill was separated from his vessel and his catamaran with his dog Stogie were found washed ashore the next day. After several days of searches his body was found by a local fisherman. For more information I have posted several news publishings about the story below. Bill was also a beloved charter Captain, and treasure of our non-profit organization COMCA. He will be missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to him, his friends, and family. RIP Bill!!
